Once installed (it takes about 20 minutes with basic hand tools) we were immediately impressed with our SOCOM's newfound handling characteristics. It's weight proved far more manageable, and gone was the awkward angle that the wrist is forced into on the factory stock. Firing the MCS-equipped SOCOM brought another pleasant surprise: Because of its layout and the fact the buttstock falls perfectly in line with the rifle's bore, recoil impulses are mitigated and follow-up shot time drastically reduced.

To say that the Troy MCS transforms the M14 into a 21st Century Battle Rifle is an understatement. The patent pending Troy system is such an improvement over earlier attempts to upgrade the M14 that there is no comparison.
Troy Industries' Modular Combat Rifle is the most significant development of the M14 since it was originally fielded in the 1950s.
